Anyone who runs very powerful amplifiers in their vehicle knows the problem: when bass attacks, the nominal 12 volt electrical system “goes to its knees”, which is noticeable, among other things, in the flickering lighting in time with the music. The problem: A car battery is very powerful, but due to its high internal resistance it is not able to deliver fast current pulses. However, they are needed so that very powerful amplifiers can reproduce bass dry and cleanly.

Thanks to modern hybrid technology, in which an electrolyte liquid and a polymer serve as the film base, it is possible to accommodate up to 10 Farad capacity in compact housings. At the same time, the technology ensures a very low internal series resistance (ESR) so that power is available at lightning speed.

ZEUS EXTREME ZXT capacitors deliver the stored extra power exactly when the subwoofer amplifier IMMEDIATELY needs a lot of energy for the heavy bass. The energy released is then recharged from the battery in the power cap for the next attack. The capacitor can therefore buffer and smooth voltage peaks by absorbing excess energy and releasing it again when necessary.

Positive side effect: The lifespan of a vehicle battery can be extended by using a power capacitor.
